Coffee or Tea?

Hi there, I need to figure out how to do the "poll" feature thing.

So, i was curious to know: Coffee or Tea? Or both? Or neither- if so explain!? (Espresso or such).

Greys Anatomy, Private Practice- so what do ya think?

I watched the first episode of Greys and Private Practice. So- who thinks it was a good idea to spin off? Is it going to be a hit? Or will Grey's loose its following?

Ron Paul Poll

Hi there- i want to create a poll or opinion post- Who out there is on board with Ron Paul? How many know who he is, and are you planning on voting for him? Have you been following the GOP debates? And what do you think of the recent GOP debate on PBS, when the "main guys" ie: Giuliani, Romney, and the other top guns didnt show.

I dont want to mention my personal beliefs just yet- i will wait and post them after the comments come in!

I feel like Ive seen the light!!

OK, i hope this is the last least purposeful blog I ever write! I have just read Steve Pavlinas blog for the past few hours, and have gained so much insight!! I have always felt I had value to give to the world, I never knew how to apply it. I now realize my scatter brained excuse for a blog is not a failure, but the base to launch me up to the stratosphere. I am excited. I am going to officially transition from a personal blogging journal (who reads those anyway?) to something of real substance. I am not in it for the monetary aspect, (it would be nice - i cant lie) but i am ready to bring my value to the table. I just hope you are ready to receive and utilize it. So, to come, a new and improved site!! One filled with helpful advice based on my own experienes. I plan on diving into many topics, but the general area of choice- or niche- as they say- will be on Improvement. I am not sure if i will stick with self- help type improvement, being a woman who knows so much about houses, material things, structures, remodeling, products, and such- i think that knowledge would be totally wasted- and a shame to not share that with the world- that is my value- and I cant wait to share with you all. Oh, minus the errors and spell check problems. What quirks!

Does anyone have any ideas about starting a new business?

I am so frustrated! My husband and I are both smart, (or at least we consider ourselves to be :P), we both have a lot of different training and experience yet we are having the most difficult time starting our own business! Why cant we create something, invent something or fall onto something big?! I tried my own cookbook a few years ago, but missed the low carb wave. All that work, and so little payback :( Im really passionate about food, namely the Organic lifestyle- but i cant seem to think of anything!? I hear of all these youngsters with "The Big Idea" of the century, like those guys who I just read about who created this "healthy granola" snack, and now make millions selling it to health food stores- Genius!

What’s crazy to me is they (young entrepreneurs) seem to be popping up left and right!.. making creative thinkers and youngsters with entrepreneural blood like my husband and I feel so frustrated and a tad jealous. I know the odds are slim to none for having that next really "big idea" but when I hear about those who have made it- i cant help thinking- Why didnt i think of that!? I have a brain- dont i? think .. think.. think.. as pooh bear used to say.

So, if someone has a big, awesome idea and is in need of two really capable, smart, talented and hard working people to join in on the venture with them :D, Please contact me! I would love to entertain the next "big idea" or product! We have some access to venture capital for this "idea" or business, and will consider anything really- We are located in NY about an hour or so from NYC. Ok, so thats my complaint and whine of the day..... Im feeling- well - useless!!! If there is anyone out there with a idea and you want to chat about it-i want to hear from you! :D

A few ideas I have been playing with: Food related - I am from a foodie family, and my sister is a Chef, my dad spends his time cooking when hes home, and I love to bake!!! I am also obsessed with local, organic food, and taking trips upstate NY to discover the "cuisine authentico".... What i can do with this- i dont know. What if i create something- say Granola or healthy butter flavor for popcorn- how does that idea become something we can sell? Where would we make it? (in a warehouse or in our kitchen? Lol) So many questions- lol. I have thought of the gift basket business- but there are already so many established and i hear of many that fail...

Next- we are involved in real estate- and yes dont we have the best timing? While we did excellent for a few years, this most recent slump has us slumped too. Hopefully that will pick back up- or well figure out a better way to manage that-

My husband is currently doing anything and everything for work. Part time all around guy- caddying, laboring for my dads business, what ever it takes- hes doing it ... What a guy! I think he just cant stomach the idea of sitting in a cubicle all day, despite his excellent financial and business skills. His lastest idea is a window replacement company!?? thoughts?? I know Home depot and other co's offer those services, but they are still really pricey. My husbad keeps going back to the window replacement biz idea-- im just not sure?

I self-published my own cookbook over 2 years ago.... like i said- i love to cook... but i have boxes of unsold cookbooks taking up precious space in the in-laws basement. eek!

We own 2 homes- and while were feeling good about being newbie R.E. investors in one of the most difficult areas to afford to live- we rent out our much more expensive property, and live in the cheaper one. ... hoping that this sacrifice will pay off down the road!

So- while it seems we have done so much in such a short time (3 years of marriage) I am getting bored, and very anxious about the next big step for us career wise... sigh... so before we start our own 24 hour cookie delivery service, if anyone has anything to offer- were all ears! :)

GM Foods, danger hidden in your supermarkets shelves...

I am appalled at the amount of GM (Genetically Modified) Foods that are lurking in our supermarket shelves- one of the reasons I avoid major supermarket chains and opt for either Whole Foods or my current local mini-chain Mrs. Greens... I even found GM foods at my local Trader Joes in CT- which shocked me. (Honey O's cereal, non organic).

Why should you avoid GM foods? Well- from my research- they are not tested or well researched before ending up in our food supply. We are literally human guinea pigs. Speaking of humans- did you know there will soon be human genes in your Rice? A good read: Is Your Rice Contaminated With Human Genes? by Dr. Mercola: http://www.mercola.com/2007/mar/22/is-your-rice-contaminated-with-human-genes.htm

While your there, do a search on www.mercola.com for GM foods, to get a peek at some of the dangers of this food.
Next-
You really need to watch "The Future of Food" which is free on You Tube....

Educate yourselves, and opt NOT to buy those foods which could proove very deadly in the long term... do yourselves and your children a favor- its just that simple- dont buy them!!!!! Supply & Demand :)

Organic vs. Processed- which is more expensive??

I recently wrote about my experience going organic, and how it has actually helped me to reduce costs. In general, not only am i eating less b/c I am following a pure, natural diet containing mainly whole foods (nothing processed), I am less likely to opt to eat out- which we all know is expensive. I found on one of my favorite health sites: www.mercola.com, yet another example explaining how going organic vs. processed junk food doesnt have to be more expensive..
